Navi Mumbai, Dec 21 : A vintage car rally was staged here on Sunday and went upto Khandala. Thirty-four old-modelled cars participate in the rally.

Fali Eider Dondi, a participant, said that he was taking part, just for amusement.

“This rally is for fun, not to win or lose. Nobody will drive fast or overtake. Cars will follow one another. This is not a race,” said Dondi.

Enthusiasts came from far off areas to get the first hand experience of a vintage car rally.We made it a point to watch the car rally with our children. This is first experience for me and for my next generation (children). We came here for children so that they could watch old model cars like Rolls Royce and so many other cars,” said Sudhir Gupta, who had come from Kanpur.

The rally was called Carwale Vintage Wheel 2009. The car models running in the rally were from 1929 onwards, namely Clipper Paekard, Ford Custom, Chevrolet Impala, Jagur Mark, Kaizer Jeep and others.
